1. Who we are
Liberty Care (“we,” “us”) operates an online marketplace that connects families with independent care providers. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. It applies to our website and apps (the “Service”).
2. Information we collect
We collect information you give us and information generated by using the Service:
- Account & profile — name, email, phone, password, and (for providers) role, credentials, license numbers, and uploaded documents.
- Care details — the care plan you build when booking, the address where care is delivered, scheduling, messages exchanged in-app, ratings, and any issue reports.
- Shift records — GPS-based clock-in/clock-out (Electronic Visit Verification) used to confirm attendance at the care location, and the completion checklist.
- Payment information — processed by our payment processor; we do not store full card numbers.
- Device & usage — basic technical data (approximate location by region, device type, log data) to run and secure the Service.
3. How we use it
To create and manage accounts; match families with providers; verify provider identity and credentials; run background checks and continuous monitoring; enable booking, messaging, scheduling, and EVV; process payments and payouts; provide support; detect fraud and enforce our Terms; and comply with law.
4. What other users can see
Providers see what they need to do the work: your name, the care address, your care plan, and your messages. Families also have one figure shown to caregivers — the percentage of your bookings that were cancelled less than 24 hours before the start, and only once your account has enough booking history for that figure to mean anything. Individual bookings, dates, and the identities of caregivers involved are never shown. Terms §8 describes this.
5. Service providers we share with
We share information only as needed to run the Service — for example with our background-check partner (identity & screening), payment processor (billing & payouts), insurance partner (per-shift coverage), and messaging/ email vendors (notifications). These partners may only use the data to perform services for us.
6. In-app messaging & contact masking
Messages between clients and providers are kept on the Service and may be reviewed for safety, dispute resolution, and enforcement. To keep relationships and protections on-platform, we may mask contact details (emails, phone numbers) shown in messages.
7. What we do not do
We do not sell your personal information. Liberty Care products are ad-free. We do not use your care details for advertising.
8. Data retention
We keep information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the Service, resolve disputes, meet legal and tax obligations, and enforce our agreements. You can ask us to delete your account (see “Your choices”), subject to records we must retain by law.
9. Security
We use administrative and technical safeguards, including access controls and encryption in transit, to protect your information. No system is perfectly secure, so we can’t guarantee absolute security.
10. Your choices & rights
You can review and update your profile in Settings, opt out of non-essential notifications, and request access to or deletion of your personal information by emailing us. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the CCPA. We will not discriminate against you for exercising them.
11. Children
The Service is for adults (18+). Care may be arranged for older adults and other care recipients by the authorized family member managing the account. We do not knowingly collect information directly from children.
12. Changes
We may update this policy; material changes will be posted here with a new “last updated” date and, where appropriate, notified in-app.
